Also: Saudi Drops 737 MAX, Tamarack Aerospace Update, Restrictions On Drones, NATA

‘One More Orbit’ is a multinational attempt to break the world record for the fastest circumnavigation of the earth via both poles, in a Qatar Executive Gulfstream G650ER ultra long-range business jet.

The record is being attempted during the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Apollo 11 moon landing, as a tribute to the past, present, and future of space exploration. The team will launch and complete the record attempt at Space Florida's Launch and Landing Facility (the former Shuttle Landing Facility) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, where Apollo 11 launched their historic mission 50 years ago. The mission started at 09:32 EDT, the same time as Apollo 11, on July 9. For the twelfth year, women attending EAA AirVenture will enjoy a show within a show as a host of WomenVenture activities take place. EAA WomenVenture is an annual celebration of women from all facets of the aviation community. Activities are scheduled during the week of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh (July 22-28) to provide women the opportunity to connect with other women who love aviation and build camaraderie within the EAA and WAI communities. EAA’s Young Eagles program which has provided over 2.1 million youth with free demonstration flight experiences, continues to guide young people toward a lifestyle of aviation by offering free enrollment in Sporty’s Learn to Fly course. The Young Eagles program achieved a major milestone on June 28, as 60,000 kids have now enrolled in the virtual pilot school. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
