Airport Will Open To Corporate Aviation On October 15th
To meet new regulations that require
law enforcement officers on all incoming and outgoing business
aircraft at Reagan National Airport, Jet Professionals says it's
making ready to provide clients with security services.
An aviation staffing service and a division of the Jet Aviation
Group, Jet Professionals is hiring law enforcement officers as
Reagan National Airport prepares to accept general aviation flights
for the first time since September 11th, 2001.
Jet Professionals says it will assign law enforcement officers
to accompany clients traveling to Reagan, the only airport that
currently requires this security measure. The company also is
finalizing plans to extend the service to clients who wish to be
escorted by a qualified security professional while traveling to
other airports.
"Jet Professionals upholds stringent safety standards when
screening and selecting crewmembers to staff our clients' flights,"
said Linda Herzog, vice president, Jet Professionals. "We felt that
we should leverage our expertise to provide this service as a way
to assist with the security efforts underway at Reagan."
Herzog said clients are already expressing a high level of
interest in the new service. Jet Professionals has received more
than 550 responses from interested officers, she said. General
aviation flights to and from Reagan National Airport are slated to
resume October 15, 2005 and Jet Professionals anticipates having
500 qualified law enforcement officers ready to fly.
