True Blue Power Announces Additional STCs for Backup Battery

Li-Ion Unit Available to Replace Older NiCAD Honeywell Units in Business Jets

True Blue Power have proclaimed users of older Honeywell Grimes emergency battery systems freed from the nickel-cadmium ecosystem with the release of their new TS60 lithium-ion Emergency Battery Power Supply.

The TS60 is approved for more than 13 business jet models, including names like the Boeing 737-200, Hawker 750 through 1000, and the Bombardier Challenger 600 series. True Blue Power advertises it as a direct replacement for the older, aged battery tech used in the original Honeywell Grimes parts, boasting fully modern cell chemistry, vastly increased performance, and significantly reduced maintenance. For operators, the cost savings continue throughout its life cycle, with capacity checks required every 2-years, with an overall life expectancy of 8 years.

The TS60 is stated to provide sufficient power for 30 minutes of emergency lighting run time, more than the required 20. Depending on system performance, the TS60 is expected to recharge within minutes once depleted. True Blue designed it with a 4-cell configuration, designed to offer increased reliability over time. This new Part 25 AML STC further expands the roster of aircraft for the TS60, which was last updated to include the De Havilland DHC-8 series in 2018.
