Neighborhood Complains After Apparent Waste Rains Down From Above

Lisle, IL Residents Find Yellowish-Brown Splotches On Yards, Roofs

Some citizens of Lisle, IL are feeling a bit down in the dumps... after what appears to be waste effluent from a passing airplane rained down on homes along Arborview Drive.

Understandably, residents are "disgusted," according to a CBS-2 report.

"Numerous splotches of brown and yellow colored liquid, it was like three or four lots wide," resident Mark Sickinger said, describing the scene that greeted several residents Monday.

At least six homeowners say the substance that fell on their snow-capped lawns and roofs was human waste... and though they called police, they really don't think it was the work of vandals.

"This is a flight pattern for O'Hare and a lot of times there's planes flying overhead," Sickinger said. "I figured it was from a low-flying airplane."

"It looked like urine, frankly, but seeing it on the roof made me think an airplane," added neighbor Sue Clark. Local police also believe the substance fell from an airliner's lav.

The FAA is looking into what happened, and how such a problem may be avoided in the future. Meanwhile, the DuPage County Health Department advised residents to treat affected areas with a solution of 10 parts water to one part bleach... but some are relying on recent rains to take care of it.

"The rain probably diluted it all," said resident Chester Grabowski. At least, that's what he hopes...
