Airborne 11.20.19: Jabiru J430, Last Hindenburg Survivor, Aspen E5 Cert

Also: Lockheed Martin LM-100J Cert, Boeing-Embraer Joint Venture, 2000th GEnx, DeHavilland Canada

One of the more intriguing bits of news coming out of the recent DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase was US Sport Planes’s Scott Severen revelation to ANN that the Jabiru J430 will soon be available in kit form.

The Jabiru J430 aircraft have been developed as touring aircraft with a wide cockpit, high cabin and ample leg room, and three human sized doors. The Jabiru J430 cruises at 120 knots on 6 -7.5 GPH. The Jabiru Airframe kits are manufactured using Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) technologies. It is a system which offers light weight at the same time as high structural integrity. The last survivor of the Hindenburg disaster passed away November 8 at the age of 90, according to the Navy Lakehurst Historical Society. Werner Gustav Doehner passed away at his home in Laconia, New Hampshire. He had been eight years old when he traveled to the US aboard the Hindenburg in May of 1937. He was with his parents and two older siblings. EASA has certified Aspen Avionics' Evolution E5 EFI. IFR and VFR capable, the STC’d non-TSO Evolution E5 consolidates attitude indicator plus DG/CDI into a single display with a rechargeable backup battery. It also includes Global Positioning System Steering (GPSS), air data computer and ADAHRS starting at $4,995. Like all Aspen displays, the Evolution E5 EFI is configurable, and upgradeable. As the pilot’s needs grow, the E5 can also be converted to the Evolution Pro MAX line of displays which enables owners to add software options like Synthetic Vision and Angle of Attack. Aspen’s versatile design and open architecture provide owners a cost-effective path to upgrade their panel without unit replacement or investing in a new installation. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
