Tribute To Jay Gordon Planned At 2016 Thunder Over Louisville

Popular Local Pilot Fatally Injured During Oneida, TN Airshow In September

Pilot Jay Gordon was well known on the air show circuit, and well known as a pilot for whom safety was paramount.

That made the news of his fatal injury during an air show in Oneida, TN in September all the more shocking to those who knew him.

Now, the organizers of the Thunder over Louisville (KY) Air Show ... Gordon's home town ... are planning a tribute to the pilot that so often performed at the show in his L-39 Albatros.

Details of the tribute have not yet been finalized, according to television station WDRB. But Wayne Hettinger, the producer of Thunder over Louisville, said that the organizers of the event "want everybody to know that we haven't forgotten him and he's still with us. Spiritually, he'll be with usa at the show. There's no doubt in my mind on that."

Thunder over Louisville is planned for April 23, 2016.
