Eighty-Five Exxon FBOs Rebrand As Phillips 66 Aviation

Company Celebrates 85 Years As A Fuel Provider

Eighty-five fixed base operators formerly with Exxon have joined the Phillips 66 Aviation network of branded dealers. The expansion of the Phillips 66 Aviation network heralds the beginning of the aviation pioneer’s 85th year providing fuel, lubricants and support programs to the general aviation industry.

The 85 former Exxon FBOs add a significant West Coast presence to the Phillips 66 Aviation network, which now offers pilots and flight departments 866 branded dealers nationwide. World Fuel Services will serve all of the newest members of Phillips 66 Aviation network. World Fuel markets, sells and distributes aviation, marine and land fuel products in more than 200 countries and territories.

“Having 85 Exxon sites join our branded network is the culmination of a collaborative relationship between World Fuel and Phillips 66 Aviation,” explains Rick Duste, Director, Branded Sales for Phillips 66 Aviation.

The expansion of the Phillips 66 Aviation network bolsters the oil company’s 85-year dedication to general aviation at a time when other major oil companies are scaling back their general aviation commitments. ExxonMobil last year announced it will cease providing general aviation fuels in North America. “This collaboration between World Fuel and Phillips 66 supports our intent to strengthen our West Coast presence, to brand more general aviation sites, while World Fuel will service those accounts,” says Duste. “The former Exxon dealers now have the full range of Phillips 66 Aviation business-building programs at their disposal. We believe it’s a win-win, particularly for the new FBOs and their customers.”

The lengthy list of Phillips 66 FBO programs includes the WingPoints Rewards Program, which rewards repeat fuel purchases; Partners-Into-Plane contract fuel, the industry’s first pre-approved fuel program; a corporate credit card accepted at more than 7,500 locations; and a host of other offerings such as the Phillips 66 national refueler fleet program.

Duste says that pilots, schedulers and flight departments will benefit from the expansion of the Phillips 66 Aviation-branded dealer network. “The WingPoints Rewards Card can now be offered at FBOs coast-to-coast, giving pilots, schedulers and dispatchers greater opportunities to be rewarded for their
loyalty,” Duste says. WingPoints are be immediately accumulated with every fuel purchase, with points redeemable online for gift or debit cards.
