AD: International Aero Engines Turbofan Engines

AD NUMBER: 2018-24-01

PRODUCT: Certain International Aero Engines (IAE) PW1100G-JM turbofan engine models with certain low-pressure turbine (LPT) 1st and 3rd-stage disks installed.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by a report of manufacturing defects found on delivered LPT 1st and 3rd-stage disks.

This AD requires removing the LPT 1st or 3rd-stage disk from service and replacing with a part eligible for installation.

DATES: This AD is effective March 15, 2019.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD affects 0 engines installed on airplanes of U.S. registry. Operators may incur the following costs in order to comply with this AD:

  • Remove and replace LPT 1st or 3rd-stage disk: $210,000
