EAA's 'Gathering' Rakes In The Bucks

The Gathering Raised A Total Of $1.7 Million Over The Course Of The Night

This year's Gathering was reportedly an engaging evening once again in 2021, honoring several people who have been important to EAA and the aviation community.

Some key EAA members who were honored postmortem included Audrey Poberezny, Chuck Yeager, and Bill Harrison. Medal of Honor recipient Gen. Patrick Brady was also present and honored.

The evening was also successful in terms of securing resources for EAA’s most vital education outreach and advocacy programs. The Gathering raised a total of $1.7 million over the course of the night. One of the features of the evening is always the customized Ford Mustang, which sold for $180,000. This WASP-themed Mach-E came with a recorded message from 100-year-old WASP Nell Bright.

A change to The Gathering this year was the addition of mobile bidding. This app was added to help make bidding easier, with features such as “Watch This Item” and “Auto Bid.”
