C Series First Delivery Marks Airline Debut Of Pro Line Fusion

Rockwell Collins Primary Flight Control Computer, MultiScan Weather Radar And HUD Also Featured On The Aircraft

Rockwell Collins’ Pro Line Fusion avionics made its airline debut following first delivery of Bombardier’s C Series to Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS). The aircraft, which will enter revenue service on July 15, also features Rockwell Collins’ Primary Flight Control Computer (PFCC) , industry-leading MultiScan weather radar with predictive windshear and dual Head-Up Display (HUD).

“SWISS pilots will enjoy flying with the industry’s largest flight displays and find it easier to manage flight operations. In addition, having dual HUD enables both the pilot and co-pilot to keep their eyes outside at critical times, delivering unparalleled safety benefits and more efficient flight operations,” said Craig Olson, vice president and general manager, Business and Regional Systems for Rockwell Collins.

"From its inception, Pro Line Fusion’s flexible design and open architecture has been intended to span a wide range of aircraft," Olson said. "To now see Pro Line Fusion delivered on the all-new, game-changing C Series commercial airliner is a proud moment for our company.”

Pro Line Fusion for the C Series aircraft, designed with five 15.1-inch high resolution LCD displays, integrated Airport Moving Map, graphical flight planning, comprehensive systems integration and a feature-rich roadmap, enhances situational awareness capabilities aloft and on the ground—enabling it to meet future air space requirements.

Rockwell Collins’ PFCC executes complex aircraft control laws to provide an enabling platform that optimizes aircraft fuel efficiency, improves passenger safety and enhances overall passenger comfort.  Rockwell Collins’ cutting-edge PFCC technology also contributes to environmentally green airplane operation with minimized carbon and noise emissions.

Bombardier has recorded 370 firm orders for C Series aircraft.
