Bombardier Names Lufthansa CityLine As Authorized Service Facility

Lufthansa CityLine Technical Services Will Perform Line And Heavy Maintenance For CRJ700, CRJ900

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft has appointed Lufthansa CityLine, the original launch customer for the CRJ aircraft, as an Authorized Service Facility (ASF) for its CRJ700 and CRJ900 aircraft.

Under the ASF agreement, Lufthansa CityLine Technical Services will offer Bombardier customers the full range of line and heavy maintenance services from its conveniently located maintenance hangar in Cologne, Germany. The state-of-the-art facility, which operates round the clock, 365 days per year, is certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and employs over 170 people.

"With this agreement, our CRJ aircraft customers across Europe and the surrounding regions will have greater access to quality workmanship and first-class customer service right in the heart of the European continent," said Todd Young, Vice President, Customer Services, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. "Lufthansa CityLine has thorough knowledge of our CRJ aircraft, along with an enviable reputation in fleet operations, and I trust our airline customers will share Bombardier's confidence in their abilities."

Lufthansa CityLine is a longstanding and valued Bombardier customer. The airline, which currently operates CRJ700 and CRJ900 aircraft, was the first to introduce the CRJ regional jet into commercial service in 1992 and has been performing maintenance, repair and overhaul services on its own fleet as well as on third-party regional aircraft ever since.

"We are very pleased to be working closely with Bombardier to provide our extensive experience and expertise with CRJ aircraft to more operators in the region," said Michael Knitter, Managing Director, Lufthansa CityLine. "With our maintenance facility located in Cologne, we are well positioned to offer the added flexibility airlines are looking for when they plan and perform maintenance."
