EAA and FAA Meet in Oshkosh for 16th Winter Summit

EAA Maintains 'Collaborative' Relationship Despite Recent FAA Mis-Steps

Despite recent FAA mis-steps, the EAA is maintaining its strategies in dealing with the FAA. This, despite such issues as the FAA's recent refusal to agree to EAA's request for an extension to the time-limited deadline for the Remote ID proposal (which has ponderous implications for all of aviation... manned and unmanned), as well as various certification bottlenecks brought on by all the political pressure over the B737Max mess (more the blame of our shoot-first and ask questions later political climate), the EAA is maintaining their plan to collaborate and cooperate, where possible, with the FAA. EAA welcomed high-level FAA staff to Oshkosh this week for the 16th annual EAA/

NBAA Rallies Members to Oppose Elimination of New York’s Aviation Jobs Act

State Senate Bill 7135 And Assembly Bill 9053 Would Eliminate The AJA

NBAA is encouraging its New York members to make their voices heard against proposals in the state legislature that, if enacted, would eliminate the Aviation Jobs Act (AJA) that has driven key aviation investment across the Empire State. Enacted as part of the 2015 state budget, the AJA made New York competitive with surrounding states that had already enacted similar sales-and-use tax exemptions to grow aviation business. Despite these positives, however, New York State Senate Bill 7135 and Assembly Bill 9053 would eliminate the AJA, cutting jobs and jeopardizing investments made to the state’s aviation industry.

Is There Anyone In Aviation Who Didn't LOVE That Program?

Actor Robert Conrad, known to virtually anyone in the aviation world for playing legendary Marine Aviator Pappy Boyington in the TV series, Baa Baa Black Sheep, has gone west. Born Conrad Robert Falk, in Chicago, Illinois, Conrad passed away in Malibu, CA, on February 8 at the age of 84. He was the father of 8 children. Somewhat ficitionalized ('Highly' according to our many conversations with the late Gregory 'Pappy' Boyington), the series became a major hit among aviators of all walks and backgrounds, and Conrad's portrayal was

Voyager Lives! Stable Communications Currently Established

A 'Gazillion' Miles From Home, Over 40 Years After Launch

Mission operators report that Voyager 2 continues to be stable and that communications between Earth and the spacecraft are good. The spacecraft has resumed taking science data, and the science teams are now evaluating the health of the instruments following their brief shutoff. Engineers for NASA's Voyager 2 spacecraft are working to return the mission to normal operating conditions after one of the spacecraft's autonomous fault protection routines was triggered. Multiple fault protection routines were programmed into both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 in order to allow the spacecraft to automatically take actions to protect themselves if potentially harmful circumstances arise.
