On August 13, 2022, about 1248 Pacific daylight time, a Dick Sim Goddard Benson B-8M gyroplane, N532KB, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident in Corona, California. The sport pilot sustained minor injuries. The gyroplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that, during the first flight of the day he remained in the airport traffic pattern. Shortly after turning to final approach, he heard a “bang” and felt a loss of engine power.
