The Aerial Tribute Will Include Over 65 WWII Era Airplanes Flying In Historical Sequence

On Friday, September 25, an aerial tribute commemorating the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II will take place over the National Mall and Potomac River. Organized by the Arsenal of Democracy Flyover, the aerial tribute will include over 65 WWII era airplanes flying in historical sequence formations representing the significant battles of WWII and ending with the missing man formation.

Flight Test U: RCAF Pilots, Engineers To Train At London's ITPS

Selected RCAF Pilots And Engineers Will Undergo Periodic Training At ITPS

The International Test Pilots School (ITPS) has announced it has been awarded a contract to train Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) test pilots and flight test engineers. Following an international competition, ITPS was ranked first in a bid for a Standing Offer to train personnel from the Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment (AETE). Currently based at 4 Wing Cold Lake, Alta., AETE is the developmental and engineering testing arm and flight test provider for the Canadian Armed Forces. The organization is responsible for evaluating new systems slated for installation on all Canadian military aircraft.

MQ-9 Reaper Bags $7.4 Billion Deal

Five Year Fixed Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contract

In an effort to field MQ-9 Reapers faster and meet an increasing operational demand for the aircraft, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s MQ-9 Program Office awarded a $7.4 billion ceiling Agile Reaper Enterprise Solution (ARES) contract to General Atomics Sept. 17. The MQ-9 is an unmanned aircraft with intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and strike capabilities. ARES, a five year fixed indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, developed by the MQ-9 Program Office, will stabilize costs, allow for the procurement of up to 36 aircraft per year in the same appropriation year, and reduce the time it takes to deliver the aircraft to operational units by appr
