A preliminary report (below) filed by the NTSB reveals that
warbird pilot, Wyatt Fuller, knew his departure was going astray
and attempted to abort the takeoff.

Aug. 4, after a five-month deployment to the Western Pacific. The
squadron, assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 2, was embarked aboard
USS Shoup (DDG 86) as part of the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier
Strike Group, CSG 9.
Pacific Air Forces' officials got a glimpse into the future of
fighter capability during a tail flash unveiling ceremony in which
PACAF's first F-22 Raptor was unveiled. The aircraft, which is
still under construction, will be the first of 36 F-22s assigned to
Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, beginning next year.
