In what officials describe as "a prudent measure," all military C-130 aircraft equipped with the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System have been placed on operational hold after one of the aircraft went down Sunday, July 1.
On June 28, the 40th Flight Test Squadron flew the first aircraft to use a new fuel blend derived from alcohol at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. "It flew like a usual A-10 would without any issues," said Maj. Olivia Elliott, an A-10 pilot and an evaluator for the mission.
