SNC Wins U.S. Air Force Contract For Life-Saving Technology

Will Design And Test DVES For HH-60G Aircraft

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) has been awarded a USAF contract for system design, development, integration and test of the Degraded Visual Environment System (DVES) on the USAF HH-60G aircraft. This system enables pilots to safely takeoff or land in aircraft-induced brownout and whiteout conditions, allowing them to move past operational limitations and address a challenge that costs the U.S. military in both lives and equipment.

Sikorsky Flies Black Hawk With Optionally Piloted Vehicle Technology

Kit Developed By Sikorsky Gives UH-60A Helicopter Full-Authority Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls

A technology kit developed by Sikorsky was used for the first time to operate a Black Hawk helicopter with full-authority, fly-by-wire flight controls. The May 29 flight marked the official start to the flight test program for the soon-to-be optionally piloted aircraft. Follow-on flight testing aims to include envelope expansion throughout the summer leading to fully autonomous flight (zero pilots) in 2020.
