Navy Pilot Fatally Injured, USAF Aircraft Down And Fairly Intact After Reported Engine Failure
A Blue Angels F/A-18 has gone down during a practice session in Smyrna, TN resulting in the fatal injury of the pilot of the aircraft. The accident occurred on the same day that an Air Force Thunderbirds F-16 went down in Colorado.
Sikorsky has successfully demonstrated a 30-mile autonomous flight using a Sikorsky S-76 commercial helicopter to complete Phase 1 of an $8 million award from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)'s Aircrew Labor In-Cockpit Automation System (ALIAS) program.
