Asks President To Nominate Donley, Schwartz For New Roles
US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates announced Monday the two
men he would like President Bush to nominate to replace General T.
Michael Moseley and Michael W. Wynne in the top military and
civilian posts in the US Air Force. As ANN reported, Gates asked
for the resignations of both men last Thursday, following an
investigation casting doubt on the focus and performance of the Air
Force's nuclear program.
Ceremonies held at Holloman AFB, NM Friday marked the formal
beginning of operations for the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor with
the United States Air Force's 49th Fighter Wing.
Spending Shifts May Occur As Result Of Leadership Shakeup
The forced resignation of US Air Force Chief of Staff General
Michael T. Moseley and Secretary of the US Air Force Michael W.
Wynne last week may end production of the Lockheed Martin F-22
Raptor program, and increase Pentagon spending on equipment and
technology intended for current wars.
