Aircraft Based On The Same Airframe As U.S. Coast Guard's HC-144A Ocean Sentry
EADS North America has delivered the fourth and final Airbus Military CN235-300 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) to be supplied to the Mexican Navy under a U.S. Coast Guard managed foreign military sales agreement. The Coast Guard employs the CN235-300 in the HC-144A Ocean Sentry configuration for a range of missions, including search and rescue, disaster relief and drug interdiction.
The reactivation of 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron, which is to be the home of the Canadian Forces' Chinook Medium-to-Heavy Lift Helicopter, was formalized on May 2, 2012, by an official Canadian Forces order. As confirmed on May 2, 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron, under the command of 1 Wing and based in Petawawa, Ontario, will be home to 15 F-Model Chinooks.
The Air Force has released its basing criteria for the KC-46A refueler that will be used to select candidate bases for the aircraft’s training unit and initial two operating bases. The formal training unit and first main operating base will be at active duty units, while the second main operating base will be at an Air National Guard unit.
The Commemorative Air Force's iconic Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, Fifi-- the only remaining flying example of the aircraft in the world --- is coming to the Carolinas Aviation Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 25. The B-29 will arrive with the B-24, Diamond Lil, an equally rare World War II bomber and one of only two still flying.
