Raytheon Awarded $491 Million For AMRAAM

Contract Includes Foreign Military Sales To Several Countries

Raytheon Company has been awarded a fixed-price contract $491,478,068 for the Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missile. The contract is for the production of the AMRAAM missile and other AMRAAM system items, including the captive air training missile, common munitions bit/reprogramming equipment and non-developmental item airborne instrumentation unit.

USAF Configured Tanker Test Vehicle Based On 767-2C Airframe

The KC-46 Pegasus development program completed its first flight of Engineering, Manufacturing and Development (EMD) aircraft #1 Dec. 28. EMD #1 is a provisioned 767-2C freighter and the critical building block for the KC-46 missionized aerial refueler. The maiden flight took off at 9:29 AM PST from Paine Field in Everett, Washington, and landed at 1:01 PM PST at Boeing Field in Seattle.

UH-1N Huey Instructor Knows What It Takes To Make A Good Helicopter Pilot

Maj. Mary Clark, a UH-1N Huey instructor pilot and the 58th Operations Support Squadron's assistant director of operations, knows what it takes to make a good helicopter pilot. Contributing to the growing Afghan air force, Clark trained pilots at Shindand Air Base, Afghanistan. She prepared 20 student pilots, including three female members of the Afghan air force and male rotary-wing pilots to fly the Russian-made Mi-17, and contributed to non-flying aspects of all pilot training.
