population... and both fame and infamy to Paul Warfield Tibbets,
Jr. The dropping of the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan on
August 6, 1945 changed the world forever -- and left Tibbets, who
flew the B-29 Superfortress "Enola Gay" that dropped that bomb,
with no regrets.
The first monolithic machined panel for the first AgustaWestland
Future Lynx was manufactured last week at Oldland CNC's facility in
Bristol, United Kingdom. The manufacture of the first component, a
lower fuselage bulkhead, was witnessed by representatives from the
UK Ministry of Defense Integrated Project Team and
Boeing May Win 10-Plane Order; Then Again, Maybe Not
It's the most advanced, and arguably most capable, cargo-hauler
in the current US Air Force fleet... but the C-17 program has never
been able to rest on its laurels, and it appears the Boeing-built
workhorse is once again in jeopardy.
