Season Coming To An End ... B-29 Doc Adds Final Kansas Ride Weekend

B-29 Doc Flight Experience Tour Will Travel To Three Cities In Kansas

The B-29 Superfortress known as Doc will bring its B-29 Doc Flight Experience Tour to three cities in Kansas to wrap up the 2020 tour season. The three-day event across three cities will include Wichita, Great Bend and Olathe, Friday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 25. The weekend will begin in Wichita at the B-29 Doc Hangar, Education and Visitors Center, Friday, Oct. 23, with B-29 Doc Flight Experience rides at 4:30 and 6 p.m. The aircraft will transition to Great Bend, Saturday, Oct. 24 with ride flights scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., before transitioning to Olathe and New Century AirCenter on Sunday, Oct. 25 with flights scheduled for 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

New RAF Red Arrows Team Leader Aims To 'Inspire'

A new Red Arrows Team Leader, who previously flew Typhoon jets on the frontline, is about to begin training for next display season. Squadron Leader Tom Bould takes over as Red 1 for the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team’s 2021 campaign. He said the team’s aim for the year will be to “inspire people”, with an exciting show that has features to make it a “trademark Red Arrows display”. ATAC To Provide Adversary Training For Eglin AFB

Award May Be Worth Up To $92 Million

Textron's Airborne Tactical Advantage Company has been selected to provide Eglin Air Force Base with adversary air live training under the Combat Air Forces (CAF) Contracted Air Support (CAS) program. Under the award, worth up to $92 million, ATAC will provide adversary air live training to F-22 and F-35 pilots at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The award provides for over 1,100 sorties per year for up to 4.5 years, which will be provided by ATAC’s fleet of Mirage F1 fighter aircraft and is expected to commence by January 2021.
