Aurora Awarded Funding To Continue Development Of DARPA VTOL X-Plane

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has awarded the Phase 1B funding to Aurora Flight Sciences to continue participation in the DARPA Vertical Take Off and Landing Experiment Plane (VTOL X-Plane) program. The award is intended to carry Aurora's participation in the project through a Preliminary Design Review (PDR) milestone in October 2015.

Army, Air Force Test New Landing Strip At Army's Fort Riley

Dirt Field Certified For C-130 Operations

The Army and Air Force performed a joint airborne air transportability training exercise on a new flight landing strip at Fort Riley, KS Oct. 27-29. The exercise validated the air strip's capabilities for future operations and replicated conditions Airmen and Soldiers encounter in austere forward operating locations. Construction of this flight landing strip was completed Sept. 13, 2013.
