Leonardo Company Signs Agreements With Italian MoD

Covers New M-345 Trainer Aircraft, Development Of New Exploration And Escort Helicopter

The Italian National Armaments Directorate of the Italian Defence Ministry has signed two contracts with Leonardo Company for an initial batch of five Aermacchi M-345 trainer aircraft, and for the first phase of development and delivery program of the new exploration and escort helicopter (NEES) for the Italian Army. The combined value of the contracts is in excess of 500 million euro (approx. $530 million).

UAS West Symposium Will Focus On Military Applications

Scheduled For Early March In San Diego, CA

DoD has reported an expected Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) growth rate between 2015 and 2035. It is expected that federal agency UAS fleets will grow from a few hundred to approximately 10,000, with over 90 percent of these vehicles categorized as Nano, Micro, or Small UAS. In all cases, the UAS is the transport for the payload, be it sensors or cargo.
