NASA and the Comparative Aircraft Flight Efficiency (CAFE)
Foundation of Santa Rosa, CA, will hold the 2011 Green Flight
Challenge, sponsored by Google, at the Charles M. Schulz Sonoma
County Airport in Santa Rosa from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1. The
competition's goal is to advance technologies in fuel efficiency
and reduced emissions with cleaner renewable fuels and electric
aircraft.
Says GPS Industry Is Not At Fault For Equipment Design
In a letter to the chairman and CEO of a controversial wireless
company, House Aviation Subcommittee Chairman Tom Petri (R-WI)
sought to set the record straight Thursday following the company's
ad in the Wall Street Journal the day before. Petri gives voice to
concerns he has heard that LightSquared's ground-based equipment
will cause an unacceptable level of interference.
The Alliance for Aviation Across America issued a
strongly-worded statement Tuesday in response to the release of
President Obama's proposal to address the nation's deficit and job
crises.
New York College Will Work With Redbird Skyport In san Marcos,
TX
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed Tuesday by
representatives from Vaughn College in New York and
Redbird Flight Simulations to develop a highly innovative flight
training program using Redbird’s Skyport flight training
facility and simulation development laboratory opening this
November at the San Marcos, Texas Municipal Airport.
