Comp Air 6.2 to be Displayed at AirVenture 2023

Comp Air Aviation, the Merritt Island, Florida-based manufacturer of high-performance aircraft and float kits, will bring its slick and capable Comp Air 6.2 to EAA’s AirVenture 2023. The aircraft will be featured at booth 315 on the AirVenture grounds. A great deal of progress has been made on the Comp Air 6.2 since it debuted as little more than a fuselage and some big promises in 2022.

NTSB Prelim: Piper PA-30

The Left Engine Decreased From 2,400 RPM To 1,000 RPM Briefly And Increased Back To 2,400 RPM

On June 8, 2023, about 1219 Mountain daylight time, a Piper PA-30, N7318Y, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Nephi, Utah. The pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that he departed Cedar City Regional Airport (CDC), Cedar City, Utah, to relocate the airplane to Skypark Airport (BTF), Bountiful, Utah, for an annual inspection.

NTSB Releases Preliminary Report on June 2023 Mooney Accident

UAS4STEM Competition Returns to AirVenture 2023

EAA AirVenture 2023 will see the return of the UAS4STEM competition for high school students. Organized by the Academy of Model Aeronautics, the event features groups of students, ranging in age from 11-years to high school seniors, who build Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)—which is to say, drones—and pit such against those of rival teams in a variety of competitions.
