Tecnam P2010 Marches To Certification

Expected By 4th Quarter 2015

Monday at AirVenture 2015, Tecnam provided a progress report on the U.S. certification of the P2010. The Tecnam P2010 is the first four place single engine high wing aircraft to be certified in decades. The Cessna Cardinal probably being the last. Way too long. The initial EASA type certification for the P2010 was issued in September 2014 with more than 25 P2010s delivered to date. Tecnam has received an EASA update to for constant speed prop which should improve its climb performance.

As I walk the show grounds at AirVenture this year, I keep looking for something NEW, innovative and different. Amateur Built aircraft are supposed to be low cost. LSAs are too. There are very few that have 4 seats, can go long distances, go high and can carry a lot. The prices for most kits are north of $100K when all is said and done. I found a small startup that is trying to change that. Peter Mueller and Bernie Breen have a dream. To build the most advance SUV for the lowest price in the marketplace and make flying affordable for the family.
