NTSB Releases Prelim In Oregon C172 Accident

Four On Board The Skyhawk Were Fatally Injured

In its preliminary report for an accident in Veneta, OR on June 23, the NTSB reports that witnesses say the engine of the Cessna 172 "suddenly just stopped" while the airplane was climbing out after departure from Crow-Mag Airport (OR33), near Veneta. A friend of the pilot told the board that the pilot was just taking some people of a "scenic sightseeing tour" of the area near the airport.

Irish Student Pilots Grounded

Financial Dispute Shuts Down Training Center

The ‘Luck of the Irish’ has apparently abandoned as many as 80 Irish student pilots who are now stranded in the U.S. and facing potential financial losses of as much as 80,000 Euros each. At issue is a failed contract agreement between the Pilot Training Center of Ireland and the Florida Institute of Technology Aviation and each side is blaming the other.
