scheduled a short meeting to give a progress report on its Pilot
Training Reform initiative. The meeting will convene at 4:50 pm on
Friday, July 29th at the FAA Aviation Center.

Today is the one-year anniversary of the arrest of Colton Harris
Moore, who became known as "The Barefoot Bandit" for his alleged
theft of planes, boats and cars, and at least 100 suspected
burglaries over two years. The troubled teen from Camano Island,
Washington reportedly endured an abusive father who deserted the
family after attempting to choke the boy, the death of a
stepfather, and repeated incarcerations for minor offenses.

The FAA has granted an STC for a 3-bladed propeller conversion
kit for the Cessna 182 through 182R series and the Reims,
France-built F182Q & R (1956 – 1986) to Hartzell
Propeller, the company said Thursday.
Mid-Continent Instruments officially broke ground Thursday on a
new 6,200-square-foot addition to the company’s Wichita,
Kansas headquarters. More than 150 employees and guests looked on
as Mid-Continent Instruments President and CEO, Todd Winter, and
dignitaries completed the ceremony.
