Pilots Can Be Involved In Mission Flying And Disaster
Relief
Bahamas Habitat announced Tuesday their Fly-In & Help Out
mission flight to Eleuthera in the Bahamas is scheduled for
Thursday, October 21st through Sunday, October 24th,
2010.
While covering this year's Cirrus Pilot's and Owner's
Association Convention was a GREAT way to spend time, getting the
news that Avidyne had certified the revolutionary new DFC90 digital
autopilot pretty much took top honors. Avidyne received the STC and
TSO authorization for the installation of the DFC90 digital
autopilot in Cirrus SR20 and SR22 airplanes on June 18th, 2010,
while Avidyne's Tom Harper called this development, "The start of a
new era for Avidyne."
Critical Actions Needed To Move From Planning To
Implementation
A report from the DOT's Inspector General indicated that the FAA
is far behind schedule in moving from planning to implementation
for NextGen, and that "critical actions' are needed if the agency
is going to meet its deployment targets.
Vote Was A Unanimous Consent Request, No Opposition To
Nomination
A former Boeing engineer and a former NASA scientist have
been unanimously confirmed to the NTSB. The Senate approved
the nomination of Dr. Earl Weener and Dr. Mark Rosekind to the
Board on Tuesday by unanimous consent.
