The Defense Department will conduct two training exercises
involving aircraft over Washington, DC, on Tuesday. The first
exercise by the North American Aerospace Defense Command and its
regional component will occur between midnight and 6 a.m. EDT,
followed by another exercise between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
SR22 With Engine Trouble Pulls Chute Monday Evening
An early model SR22 (SN #386, file photo below) ran into engine
trouble Monday night and the pilot elected to pull the CAPS
emergency parachute system to affect a recovery. According to local
media sources, the aircraft reported trouble at 2010 local time
near Elkin. NC.
