Overall GA Shipments Down 4.6 Percent Compared To 2010
GAMA released the industry's shipment and billings figures for
the first quarter of 2011 Tuesday. In the first three months
of 2011, total general aviation (GA) airplane shipments fell 4.6
percent.

There won't be any daily operations out of Knuffingen Airport,
because the entire grounds only encompass about 1,600 square feet.
But visitors to Miniatur Wunderand in Hamburg, Germany can tour

Piper Aircraft official say the company continued an upward
performance trend in the first quarter of 2011 by significantly
growing new aircraft billings and delivering substantially more of
its flagship single-engine Meridian turboprops during the three
months ended March 31.
Backlog Continues To Grow As Well. Boisture Says 2011 Is
"Encouraging"
Hawker Beechcraft Acquisition Company delivered 66 aircraft in
the first quarter of 2011 versus 50 in the first quarter of 2010.
In addition, the Company ended the first quarter of 2011 with a
$122 million higher backlog than 2010 year-end backlog.

Went Down
A 70-year-old man and his 54-year-old daughter were fatally
injured Saturday when the homebuilt airplane they were flying went
down shortly after takeoff from Lone Star Executive Airport in
Conroe, TX.
