FAA Grants Type Certification For Ovations And Acclaim
The use of Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS)-aided navigation
and Safe-Taxi has been certified by the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) on Mooney's family of airplanes -- the Acclaim
Type S, Ovation 3 and Ovation2 GX.
The crash of a Lancair IV-P near Snow Hill, NC claimed two lives
on Thursday. Pilot Mark Sobel, 56, and his wife Joan Wilson, 56,
were both killed when the high performance single crashed in open
farmland around 1330 on Thursday about 20 miles southwest of
Greenville.
We've all heard the old pilot saying "a good landing is one you
can walk away from" -- well, thankfully one FedEx feeder pilot did
exactly that on Friday night.
