Aerospace Center For Excellence Helps Young Adults Aim High

Sky Lab Is A 22,000 Square Foot Extension Of The Florida Air Museum

Walking down the education corridor at Lakeland Linder International Airport, one can find a museum, a youth aero club, a high school, and, soon, a full science, technology, engineering, and math laboratory. These educational aviation experiences are all connected to the Aerospace Center for Excellence. ACE is separate from Central Florida Aerospace Academy, although the two are intertwined in Lakeland. CFAA is a public high school, but ACE is a nonprofit organization with the mission to "engage, educate, and accelerate the next generation of aerospace professionals," said Education Director Kimberly Brewer.

Piper Displays New 100i At Lakeland

Trainer Designed For Flight Schools Of All Sizes 

Piper Aircraft has brought an FAA certified Pilot 100i, for the first time to display at Sun-n-Fun. The Pilot 100i received type certification from the FAA in December 2020. The Pilot 100i, which was originally announced during Sun-n-Fun in 2019, is an addition to Piper’s trainer-class line. Following certification, Piper began deliveries to its launch customer, American Flyers, who took delivery of eight (8) Pilot 100i aircraft at the end of 2020.
