Aspen Evolution 1000 PFD Included in PAL-V Liberty

'First' Commercial Flying Car Fills Out Its Panel

Aspen Avionics reports that the Evolution 1000 Primary Flight Display has been selected by manufacturers of the PAL-V, the first flying car. After being the first flying car to get road permission for Europe, PAL-V is now also reportedly the first to finalize the full certification basis with EASA. Based on PAL-V's 10 years of test results, EASA specialist teams finalized the requirements for the PAL-V Liberty including the installation of the Aspen Evolution 1000 Primary Flight Display.

Will Begin Shipping Product Immediately

uAvionix has received an EASA STC for its AV-30-C Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) for over 330 aircraft models available in Europe. uAvionix will begin shipping product immediately. Designated for installation as a primary attitude indicator or directional gyro in piston single and twin aircraft weighing less than 6000 lbs, the STC provides authorization to install AV-30-C on aircraft listed on the extensive EASA Approved Model List (AML), containing over 330 aircraft models from Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, American Champion, Maule, Mooney, Daher, Textron, and others. NTSB Prelim: Cessna A185F

The Right Rear Check Cable “Came Loose” From The Fuselage Attach Fitting

On March 4, 2021, about 1500 Alaska standard time, a Cessna 185F, N1848R, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Skwentna, Alaska. The pilot and three passengers were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that, after takeoff from a remote frozen snow-covered lake, with the hydraulic-wheelski-equipped airplane, the right rear check cable “came loose” from the fuselage attach fitting. The right ski then rotated to a nose high position as he maintained control of the airplane.
