The Racine City Council on Wednesday approved a $1.2 million
low-interest loan for DeltaHawk Engines, Inc., which plans to
manufacture a family of 2-12 cylinder engines for the general
aviation industry. The two-percent loan will be provided in
$400,000 increments over three years, and is tied to facility
improvements on DeltaHawk's future manufacturing plant in Racine.
The Racine Redevelopment Authority unanimously approved the loan
last Thursday, paving the way for the Council vote this past
week.

Distributor Network
Lycoming's industrial horsepower has added some 'Air
Power.' Air Power Inc., located at Arlington, Texas, Municipal
Airport in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, has joined Lycoming's
worldwide distributor network. Founded in 1992, Air Power is an
industry leader in the sale of factory engines and parts for
general aviation, with over 27,000 factory engines sold
worldwide.

It was an interesting year for the folks of Piper Aircraft...
and while issues with the vendor that built their PiperSport turned
out to be serious enough to sever the program just a few weeks ago,
it sure showed it had the "right/light stuff" when it came to
working the LSA market. Piper did some ingenious stuff with
the PiperSport program -- including the mounting of one of the
first credible social media sales and support programs in GA... and
garnered solid successes in short order -- even to the point where
a PiperSport was sold over the web early in the program's
genesis.
