Sheriff's Aircraft Subject of Investigation

Noel's Station As Sheriff Lasted From 2015 to 2022

Former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel's aircraft is now the subject of a seizure authorization due to its murky financing. Noel's 1958 Cessna 172 gained the interest of investigators when they began to suspect it had been purchased with volunteer firefighter funding but used as a personal plane. The aircraft was listed to the Utica Township Firefighter Association. Noel's station as sheriff lasted from 2015 to 2022, with previous stints as the founder of New Chapel Fire and chief of Utica Fire. An affidavit filed by Indiana State Police described their thought process in suspecting the aircraft's personal use via a few tips and inferences.

Connecting Rod Was Found Outside Of The Crankcase When The Engine Cowling Was Removed

On December 10, 2023, about 1555 mountain standard time, a Beechcraft A36, N4171S, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Topock, Arizona. The pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 personal flight. According to a family member the pilot was flying from Sun Valley Airport (A20), Bullhead City, Arizona to pick up a passenger from Prescott Regional Airport – Ernest A.
