AERO 2021 Will Begin On April 21 And Continue Until April 24, 2021

After a one-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, Aero 2021 will take place next year from April 21 to 24, 2021, at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Center. The show team at Lake Constance expects a large number of exhibitors. Superior Air Parts Applies To The FAA For AMOC Approval

Could Circumvent A.D. On Certain Crankshaft Assemblies Used In SAP And LYC 360-Series A/C Engines

Superior Air Parts has been working with the FAA to develop and submit an Alternative Method of Compliance (AMOC) covering the recently announced FAA A.D. regarding certain Superior Air Parts manufactured crankshaft assemblies. The crankshaft assemblies were originally installed in new Superior Air Parts XP-Series Model O-360 and IO-360 engines and as replacement parts under PMA on certain Lycoming Model AEIO-360, IO-360, and O-360 engines. NTSB Prelim: Piper PA28R

They Reviewed Nearby Airports, But None Were Suitable

On September 20, 2020, about 2047 eastern daylight time, a Piper PA-28R-180, N3790T, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Moosic, Pennsylvania. The pilot sustained a serious injury while the pilot rated passenger sustained minor injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot rated passenger seated in the left seat stated that she was the pilot-in-command (PIC) at the initiation of the flight. Before departure with full fuel tanks she performed an engine run-up with no discrepancies reported.
