Announces Membership Election Process For Open Positions
The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) announced
a call for nominations to fill three open positions on the NAFI
Board of Directors. This is the initial step in to the process of
member election of directors.
Power Flow Systems Introduces the Latest in Tuned Exhaust
On November 12th, Power Flow Systems announced the debut of its
all-new tuned exhaust system for the Beech Bonanza. Though
PFS now has systems on over 3,500 aircraft, the Bonanza will be the
company’s first tuned exhaust for a six-cylinder
Cirrus Announces Factory Option for New SR20 and SR22
During the 2009 AOPA Summit, aviation enthusiasts convened at
the Tampa Convention Center to see the latest in general aviation
technology and hear the latest in general aviation
news. During the convention, Cirrus Aircraft, announced
that Avidyne’s Entegra Release 9 integrated flight deck
system would now be available from Cirrus as a factory option on
selected new SR20 and SR22 aircraft.
Initial STC Covers Some 580 Different Aircraft Makes And
Garmin International announced Wednesday that the FAA has
granted an approved model list supplemental type certificate
(AML-STC) for the Garmin’s TAS and TCAS I traffic systems,
the GTS 800, GTS 820 and GTS 850. The initial AML-STC includes
approximately 580 different aircraft makes and models.
Cirrus Design hopes to work with city leaders in Grand Forks, ND
in an effort to re-structure a lease on its facility there.
According to City Administrator Rick Duquette, the company
currently owes $845,000 in back rent.
As Many As 340,000 Aircraft May Need New Paperwork To Be
The FAA may soon be set to require aircraft to be registered
periodically, as are cars and boats. If adopted, the perpetual
registration of aircraft would be scrapped and the registration of
every aircraft in the United States would be cancelled, requiring a
new registration within three years.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in McAllen, Texas wants to seize an
airplane belonging to Jorge Aguiniga, a Houston car dealer being
held on charges of illegal immigration. Aguiniga was arrested
on board the airplane, 1978 Beechcraft Model 95-B55, at McCreery
Aviation at McAllen airport in July.
