This Could Be BIG Trouble... AOPA Vows To Protect Pilots From
Additional Costs
AOPA tells us that the General Accountability Office (GAO) has
praised the way the FAA monitors Aviation Medical Examiners (AMEs)
and proposed expanding that system to monitor its other designee
programs. But how would the FAA pay for it? The GAO suggested that
the agency charge designees application and renewal fees. And
that's where AOPA draws the line.
The National Air and Space Museum is throwing a special first
anniversary celebration Saturday, Dec. 11, at its Steven F.
Udvar-Hazy Center to thank visitors who have made the Chantilly, VA
facility the state's most popular museum site.
Daniel Webster College (DWC) is moving forward with a major
curriculum renewal effort throughout its aviation division. This
process has been made possible, in part, by receipt of a $1 million
Congressionally designated grant obtained through the efforts of
Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) and the support of the entire New Hampshire
Congressional delegation.
Controllers Say Delays, Congestion Inevitable Without More
Aggressive FAA Action
As millions of Americans take to the skies this holiday season,
the National Air Traffic Controllers Association is calling on the
Federal Aviation Administration to work with the new Congress to
address the delays and congestion that will be facing our nation's
airports this holiday season and in the days and years to come.
This well could become a holiday tradition: flying to the
so-called Flight of Four -- Fantasy of Flight, Flying Tigers
Warbird Restoration Museum, Valiant Air Command and the Florida
Aviation Museum.
