TFR Established For Trump Inauguration

Will Be In Effect From January 19-21

As a result of the planned 2017 Presidential Pre/Post-Inauguration Festivities in Washington, DC on January 19th and 21st, 2017, the FAA at the request of the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense as part of the airspace security measures will be modifying the Washington Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA) and Washington Metropolitan Flight Restriction Zone (FRZ) with additional flight restrictions between the hours of 1330 local through 1830 local on 1/19 and 0900 local through 1200 local on 1/21.

Is First To Accomplish The Feat In An Airplane Weighing Under 1,750 Kilograms

Retired Iberia Airlines A320 captain and former Spanish Air Force pilot Michel Gordillo has been recognized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (F.A.I.) as the first pilot to circumnavigate both the North and South Poles in a homebuilt aircraft weighing under 1,750 kilograms (3,858 pounds). Additionally, Captain Michel Gordillo has become the only pilot to ever fly a single-engine aircraft across the continent of Antarctica.
