Robinson Helicopter Company has been able to boast, honestly even, that they continue to be the world's leading producer of civil helicopters. That's not likely to change anytime soon and with the news we've just received, it looks to be a sure thing for a long time to come. In 2011, the company produced 356 helicopters (212 R44s, 88 R66s and 56 R22s), more than double 2010's production of 162 -- despite the economic doldrums. 2012 is even more promising and while the R44 remains Robinson's top selling helicopter, the response to the R66 Turbine ship has been very strong and for very good reason. NPRM Would Extend Victor Airways South Of The Border

FAA Says Result Would Be Improved Cross-Border Navigation

The FAA has published in the Federal Register a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to extend two Victor Airways across the border into Mexico. The agency says the action would enhance navigation and air traffic control coordination for aircraft proceeding across the United States-Mexican border.

Three Groups Plan Superbowl Banner Ads

Not Clear How That Will Work Given TFR, Domed Stadium

Superbowl XLVI will be played next month in Indianapolis, in Lucas Oil Stadium, and at least three groups say they're planning to hire banner planes to publicize messages to the crowd. There are two obvious problems with that plan. There will be a TFR which, despite invoking security as a premise, is widely seen as an excuse to control advertising. But the other issue is that Lucas Oil Stadium has a dome.
