ANN spoke with Jan Eggenfellner, Owner & Designer of Viking Aircraft Engines, at Oshkosh about the new technology they brought to the show in the form of two different engines: a 150 and a 195. Eggenfellner starts off the conversation by talking about the 150 Engine. “The 150 is still in production by Honda because that's what we do, convert Honda engines for aircraft. The engine comes from the Honda HR-V, which is a very popular Honda car,” Eggenfellner explains.

Merlin Labs shares that the certification basis for its takeoff to touchdown autonomy system has been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand in collaboration with the FAA. Merlin is now the first company to reach an agreement on an approach for the certification of aircraft autonomy, according to a media release. Radar Required A term displayed on charts and approach plates and included in FDC NOTAMs to alert pilots that segments of either an instrument approach procedure or a route are not navigable because of either the absence or unusability of a NAVAID.
