Airborne 07.15.15: US Airways Goes West, NASA Sees Pluto, Blue Angels 2016

When US Airways operates Flight 434 from San Francisco to Philadelphia and Flight 496 from Phoenix to Denver on October 16, they will be the last two flights under the US Airways brands. At least that's the way it stands now. American Airlines Group says that schedules can, and often do, change. Following the record breaking oceanic flight of 5 days and 5 nights in the solar powered airplane by André Borschberg, Solar Impulse will undergo maintenance repairs on the batteries. Despite having completed the longest and most difficult leg of the Round the World Solar Flight, the solar powered airplane has suffered battery damages due to overheating. The Solar Impulse team said in a news release that the damage to certain parts of the batteries is irreversible and will require repairs
