Aero Linx: Wing-Walking.org In memory of Jane Law Wicker, lost at the Dayton Air Show. June 22, 2013. In 1989 she was given an aerobatic ride at the Flying Circus as a Birthday present. Bitten by another bug, she set off with a new set of new goals. After that one Stearman flight, she knew she had to learn aerobatics and that she was destined to fly airshows. In 1990 the Flying Circus Airshow, in Bealeton VA, placed an advertisement for a wing walking position in the Washington Post Classifieds. She answered that ad thinking that wing walking would be an exciting way to enter the airshow business, not to mention a lot of fun. Her first time airborne on the wing also happened to be her first show....

ANN's Daily Aero-Term (06.23.13): Marker Beacon

Marker Beacon An electronic navigation facility transmitting a 75 MHz vertical fan or boneshaped radiation pattern. Marker beacons are identified by their modulation frequency and keying code, and when received by compatible airborne equipment, indicate to the pilot, both aurally and visually, that he/she is passing over the facility.
