The Commercial Drone Alliance has called for Congress to repeal Section 336 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act (FMRA) of 2012. Ellen Stofan Named To Head National Air And Space Museum

Former Chief Scientist At NASA Will Take New Post April 30

Ellen Stofan, currently consulting senior scientist at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, has been named the John and Adrienne Mars Director of the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum effective April 30. Stofan comes to the position with more than 25 years’ experience in space-related organizations and a deep research background in planetary geology. She is the first woman to hold this position.

The city of Oceanside, CA in San Diego County has approved the use of a "drone killer" by its police department. The device acquired by the city comes from IXI Technology. It was developed by the company using similar technology used by the U.S. military. It disrupts the radio signal controlling the drone, and either forces it to land immediately or return to its operator.
