Here’s an interesting tidbit from AOPA’s recently
released Aviation Fact Card for 2006: 10% of
all general aviation aircraft in the US are licensed in the
Experimental category—amateur-built, or
“homebuilt” airplanes.
Would you like to sit in an actual cockpit of an F-18 Hornet or
SR-71? You can even play with the knobs and dials but you will have
to climb out and let the kiddies take a turn.
Slang term for the condition in which the aircraft is set up to fly
smoothly and predictably. This is the state where the mechanics and
electronics work together to produce the best performance.

are treated like nuisances."
