The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee canceled a planned vote pertaining to Phil Washington, Joe Biden’s controversial nominee to head the Federal Aviation Administration. Senate Commerce Committee chair Maria Cantwell (Democrat, Washington State) set forth that she was delaying the vote "pending information that members have been seeking." Cantwell did not specify a future date on which the nomination’s consideration might continue.

United Airlines and Archer to Found Chicago UAM Network

On 23 March 2023, Archer Aviation Inc., the California-based designer of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, and United Airlines (UAL) announced their joint plan to launch Chicago’s first air taxi route between O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Vertiport Chicago—a facility in the Illinois Medical District near Chicago’s famed Loop.

Standard T

An RNAV approach whose design allows direct flight to any one of three initial approach fixes (IAF) and eliminates the need for procedure turns. The standard design is to align the procedure on the extended centerline with the missed approach point (MAP) at the runway threshold, the final approach fix (FAF), and the initial approach/intermediate fix (IAF/IF). The other two IAFs will be established perpendicular to the IF.
