What do Steve Fossett, Sally Ride, and the founder of FedEx have in
common? They are just some of the members of the Class of 2007
named to the National Aviation Hall of Fame.
These aircraft combine features of helicopters and fixed-wing
aircraft -- they have the vertical takeoff and landing ability of
the helicopter, and the cruise speed, range, and fuel economy of
fixed-wing aircraft.
